Pharmaceutical Science Program

This program provides an interdisciplinary foundation in drug discovery, development, and commercialization. It prepares students for careers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

How to Apply

Students or Research who want to apply should apply at least 8 weeks before the proposed start date.

There is no application form to apply. Prospective visitor must write a Letter of Intent to the Admission Officer (via info@afhro.org) with the following information:

Personal Information

  • 1 Education
  • 2 Provide details of your current undergraduate degree study (letter confirming your current degrees of study should be added)
  • 3 English Language: You should provide any certification of your competence in English as part of your application
  • 4 Supporting statement: You are required to provide an official letter confirming you are currently studying an undergraduate level degree. This needs to be on official headed paper and signed or stamped by your institute. If the original letter is not in English, we will also need to see an official translation. The letter should confirm:
  • The title or your current study
  • The date you enrolled
  • Your expected completion date

  • 5 References: You should provide reference from your tutor on your current undergraduate degree

Students should allow 6 weeks for applications to be processed.

Fee structure

  • For visits up to 3 months, no fee would be charged
  • For visits between 3 months up to 5 months, a fee of £4,500 would be charged;
  • For visits between 6 months and 9 months, a fee of £6,500 would be charged;
  • For visits between 9 to 12 months, a fee of £10,500 would be charged;
  • For visits more than 12 months, a normal tuition fees for your fee status will apply

For Visiting Academic Researchers, they must apply through Letter of Intent with the following details:

  • Current CV
  • Research Proposal
  • Reference
  • Source of funding (e.g. letter of sponsorship)

Fee structure for Visiting Researcher

The following fees are for a 12-month period of study. For shorter periods, the fee will be a pro-rata amount, based on the number of months you are at AHRO:

UK/Republic of Ireland £4000
International Band £9000

Research expenses: for some periods of visiting research, you will be charged a supplementary fee to cover the costs of additional facilities and consumables. This will be detailed in your Offer of Admission letter

English Language Requirements

All Visiting Researcher and Visiting Student should be able to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) and be able to do so in academic environments. You should provide any certification of your competence in English as part of your application e.g. previous English language tests, previous study. The level of English language you are required to demonstrate is below:

  • If you are visiting for up to 6 months and wish to apply for a Student Visa, or you are visiting for over 6 months up to 12 months and require a student visa, you must meet the minimum UKVI English language requirement prior to your visit. This is 5.5 overall, with 5.5 in each skill for IELTS.
  • If you do not require a visa to study in the UK, or you are visiting for up to 6 months and will apply for a Standard Visitor visa, competency is assessed on a case-by-case basis following your application. If you are required to demonstrate your level of English, you must meet a minimum of 5.5 overall, with 5.5 in each skill for IELTS prior to your visit.

Fellow

  • 1 Funded fellowship: Fellow received financial support, resources, and freedom that a typical job cannot offer.
