About
Health and social workers play several roles in health care settings and in community, where they intervene as care givers, communicators, teachers, advocates etc…
The role of health and social workers as communicator is with pivotal consideration in therapeutic process, because clients and families do communicate their concerns to the health professionals with whom a bond has been established.
Good communication skills enable health and social professionals to know the services users, to identify their health problems, and to meet their overall health needs: physical, psychological, cognitive (intellectual), social, economic, cultural, religion or spiritual needs…, and so to provide patient centered and holistic care to them.
