AHRO Starts identification of small molecules for some priority pathogens

AHRO Center for Academic Research in UK has commenced intensive research to identify small molecules that have been identified as priority pathogens by the World Health Organization. The project which is being directed by the Chief Scientific Officer would involve the following pathogens: N gonorrhoea, Mycobacteria Tuberculosis, and Hepatitis B Virus.   The Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the institute Professor Catherine V Johnson while outlining the aims of the project said after the identification of the small molecules which is effective against these pathogens, the Center would utilize Multiomics strategy to prove the efficacy of the novel molecules. In the next phase, the small molecules will be tried in clinical trial studies involving the multi-site which are being established across West Africa and the UK. “We hope to do our best to introduce new regimen to help in the management of these pathogens” Prof Johnson added.
