The AHRO Center for Academic Research (UK) has conferred honorary doctorate degrees on Hajia Hajara Shardow and Barbara Ngomo for their immense contributions to community development and nursing, respectively. Hajia Shardow, who is an accomplished accountant, is also the President of FOMWAG UK and Ireland, as well as the Vice President of FOMWAG Headquarters in Ghana. Ms. Barbara, on the other hand, is an experienced nurse and an icon in global affairs.
The honours were conferred on them on 26 November 2024 during the closing ceremony of the 1st Africa Consultative Summit on Climate Change and One Health, which was held in London, UK.
In honouring them, Prof. Yaro, the Director-General and Chief Scientific Officer of the institute, praised Hajia Hajara and Ms. Barbara for their outstanding contributions to community development.
In her acceptance speech, Hajia Hajara thanked the institute for bestowing such a wonderful honour upon her and promised to play a significant role in advancing the mission of the center. Ms. Barbara, on the other hand, expressed her gratitude through a speech read by her two sons, thanking the AHRO board for honoring her with the doctorate.
As Deputy Director of the center, Ms. Barbara promised to work extremely hard to ensure that the aims and objectives of the organization are achieved.
